Summer

Every year on the 4th of July one of my best friends throws a bash of a swim party. It is one of the best parties of the year. Come enjoy some good food, great conversation, some swimming and a few fireworks. This painting is 48"x 72", oil on canvas. This was a fun  painting that i learned a lot by doing and for some funny reason it was edited out of my Thesis show by my committee.

This young lady is the older sister to the twins in the last blog post. She was shy when I first met her, however as I painted her, I realized she has a lot going on behind those eyes.

# 57 & # 58 Twins

Painting these two was so much fun. I really enjoyed hearing their passions for cars and maps. I think we have a future Indy 500 driver and world explorer here. 

LEGOS

Here is a small commission(18"x 24", oil on canvas) of a friend's son playing with his LEGOS in the kitchen. The colorful plastic was fun to paint. This little guy has such a sweet spirit to him. He makes the world a more beautiful place with his creations of small objects and duct tape.

Holiday Season

This is a little favorite of mine. Wayfarer, 11"x 14" oil on panel. I watched this man rub some coins together at a train station in Washington D.C. He hid in a little nook while people hustled by not even noticing him. The moment made me reflect and it turned into this small painting.

My hope is that holiday season help us all be a little kinder.

Childhood Hero: Walter Payton

As a child I looked up to no one more then Walter Payton. He played football with an intensity that no one could match. He out worked, out played and out hustled everyone every time he stepped on the field. Most people would think it immature to admire a sports so much, however what I think stood out about him was his work ethic. I try to approach painting with that focus and I try to work as hard as possible. Oil sketch on canvas, 18"x 24".

This commission could be titled The Conversation. This guy makes the best facial expressions and his hands were nonstop the entire time we were chatting. I would highly encourage anyone to have a chat with this guy, it is a conversation you are not likely to forget.

# 55 Girlfriend- Fiance

Here is a little oil sketch I did of my girlfriend two months ago, since then I proposed and we are now engaged. The big day is December 27th 2012. I am one lucky guy!!!   

#54 Charlie

Little Charlie is one enthusiast little guy. One day he has his football uniform on ready for the gridiron, the next day he has on a headband and a basketball ready to play some hoops, and the next day he has on his swim shorts to follow the path of Michael Phelps. Sometimes it happens all in the same day. This is at the annual 4th of July pool party, a little watermelon and his Duckie. 24"x 24", oil on canvas.

Thesis Show/ Studio Sale Tomorrow night!

Here are two oil sketches I recently finished. The top on is 24"x 36" oil on canvas and the smaller one is 8"x 12" on panel. I wanted to try two different approaches of the same subject. I ended up with similar result after two totally different journeys. Both of these will be at the studio sale tomorrow night. Hope to see you there.
