Finished Product

Here is the finished painting. I wish I would have taken some pictures throughout the process to see its evolution. It is so easy to become slightly myopic and too focused on a painting. This painting is titled "... to be Trodden..." and it is oil on canvas, 36"x 40". Any comments are appreciated, I would love to hear what people think this is about.

i think your title is very interesting--i'm trying to figure out exactly what it means, as my understanding of trodden is that it's a verb, and not necessarily something you can be, unless you are "downtrodden", or something like that. hmmm...

Brilliant, Zachary. Excellent work. Your vision really came to fruition. Visually, I like how the sand and the smoke balance each other. Great composition. As for the symbolism/ message - way to keep people guessing! Nice job.

wow, zachary. beautiful...you were right when you said you were taking it a new direction. i love the mysterious quality this painting has...somewhat like the feeling i received when i first viewed your works in person at the springville museum. i too am wondering about the title? my other favorite of course is the one of "katie"...guess "bob" likes this one too! :-)) karen t.
